Our babies are called Explorers and their base room consists of a carpeted area, which has a natural area and a story area and lots of mirrors around to encourage them to develop that most important ‘sense of self’.
We place a great deal of thought into the layout of our rooms and in our baby room all our toys are readily accessible and the furniture is set up in such a way to help those babies who are starting to find their feet and beginning to cruise. We also have an area where the babies can access lots of messy activities (all edible and carefully chosen where babies have allergies or dietary needs).
In one corner of this room is a separate sleep area with cots which is a well insulated room so it is naturally quieter but with no door so that the babies are visible at all times. We also have snugly soft floor beds if they prefer to sleep in them.
